SecurLock
1.3 is now available in the UK market
SecurSoftware has today announced the UK availability of SecurLock,
a USB Flash device and software solution that provides data protection
and access control for Windows-based PCs. Available in the US since
June, SecurLock 1.3 adds a data shredder utility that lets you dispose
of confidential data and files from regularly-used folders, such
as temporary Internet files, history, cookies and recent documents.
An
alternative to biometric authentication, SecurLock 1.3 avoids unauthorised
access of your PC by means of a physical USB token (key) that is
plugged into your computer's USB port. Together with a PIN, SecurLock
provides single sign-on (SSO) and data encryption. Log-in data is
encrypted and saved on the USB token, so can't be recovered from
your PC's hard disk. Once the USB token is removed from the PC,
the session is blocked. |

SecurLock
allows more than one user to log-on to the same PC using their own
key and PIN. This provides access to the user's own session, as
well as to their own encrypted data and SSO credentials. The product's
security tools let you encrypt files, folders and e-mail attachments
using either BlowFish (variable-length keys from 32- to 448-bits)
or RC4 (variable-length keys from 1- to 2,048-bits) algorithms.
The SSO feature should also provide a safe way of managing your
Windows profiles, such as user name and password.
If
a user loses the key, but remembers the password phrase, a new key
can be programmed by the administrator of the system, a feature
that should prove popular in large organisations. SecurSoftware
is currently testing a network version designed specifically for
enterprises. |
